Reflecting

Can a mirror reflect more than your image? What about your thoughts? Here's a fascinating experiment one bride-to-be has taken on. She is going mirror-free fro an entire year, including the 6 months leading up to and INCLUDING her wedding day! Check out her journey at Mirror Mirror Off the Wall.

What to Wear

I'm posting this verse by my mirror as a reminder that my attitudes are more important to the people in my life than the way I look...
“Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”
Colossians 3:12 (NIV)

Where's My Focus?

In her Selective Focus post on the "Already Pretty" blog, author Sally McGraw gives some great ideas about how to rethink what I see when I look in the mirror. While not a Christ-centered article, her thoughts made me think of the advice found in Philippians 4:8-9 (MSG)
Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse... Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.

The Face Jesus Loves

I'm one of those who starts my Christmas shopping for the next year at one year's after-Christmas and New Year's sales. So if we get to October and I don't have gifts tucked away for all my loved ones yet, I start getting anxious! So here we are, mid-Sept., and I still have several people on my list. I'm getting out there and starting to really hunt for meaningful bargains now!

Well, today I found something that seemed such a perfect fit for the whole concept of Inner Beauty that I had to share it with you!

This Jesus Love Me Mirror from Blessings Unlimited is engraved with the words, "This is the face of someone Jesus loves." What a perfect reminder that, even as I prepare for the day, striving to put my best face forward, that Jesus sees me just as I am and loves me anyway!
